Students of architecture, design, fashion, and art in Lithuania are invited to take part in the design competition for the New European Bauhaus (NEB) trophy.

On Wednesday in Kaunas, at the Reading Room of the National Institute of Architecture, Dr Oxana Gourinovitch, a researcher at RWTH Aachen University, will present the book Raising the Curtain: Operatic Modernism in the Soviet Republics.

According to the National Institute of Architecture, which will be based in the building, the action during the strike was intended to express solidarity with Lithuania’s cultural community and to draw attention to the demands raised over the Ministry of Culture being handed over to “Nemuno aušra”.

As part of the week-long European Heritage Days programme, visitors will have the opportunity to see the Kaunas Central Post Office building - abandoned for several years and closed to the public.

On Thursday, the National Institute of Architecture in Kaunas presented Lithuania’s pavilion for the 2025 Venice Architecture Biennale and held a send-off event for the pavilion team.

The National Institute of Architecture (NAI), established by the Ministry of Culture, has selected its logo and visual identity, the Institute said in a press release. The open competition was won by the design and architecture studio Acid, which received the highest number of votes from the selection committee.
