Networks
The National Institute of Architecture bases its work on international engagement, cross-sector dialogue, and long-term partnerships. The Institute acts as an open platform connecting the fields of architecture, culture, research, education, and the creative industries. Collaboration with Lithuanian and international institutions enables research development, joint programmes, wider dissemination of architecture, and active participation in international discussions on the role of architecture in society.
- 01 International Confederation of Architectural Museums (ICAM) – the Institute’s membership in an international network spanning professional exchanges, joint research, and exhibition initiatives, strengthening cooperation among architectural institutions on a global scale.
- 02 European Architecture Platform – a platform uniting 30+ European architecture institutions, dedicated to international dialogue, knowledge and experience exchange, and joint programmes and initiatives that expand architectural outreach and strengthen its visibility across Europe.
- 03 Common Space Platform – an international network curated by the National Institute of Architecture and Urban Planning Research in Warsaw (NIAiU), bringing together partners from different countries and developing joint initiatives in research, exhibitions, and public space themes.
- 04 Nordic–Baltic Forum for Architecture Festivals – a regional cooperation network bringing together architecture festival and institutional partners, and strengthening joint programmes, exchanges, and discussions across the Nordic and Baltic countries.
- 05 New European Bauhaus (NEB) initiative and the NEB4ALL project (Horizon Europe) – an international consortium uniting partners from 27 countries and advancing cooperation, funding opportunities, and links with the Nordic NEB Academy and other NEB platforms.
National partnerships
In Lithuania, NAI collaborates with cultural and memory institutions, academic partners, non-governmental organisations, and municipalities. Partners include the Kaunas City Museum, Kaunas University of Technology, Kaunas Artists’ House, UNESCO Creative Cities of Design initiatives, the Architecture Fund, the Little Architect, and other organisations. The Institute also develops links with the private sector, which contributes to the delivery of programmes and infrastructure.
