Education

The National Institute of Architecture’s educational programme reinforces the Institute’s mission to publicly represent architecture and architectural culture, to build architectural literacy, and to involve diverse audiences in conversations about our environment. Educational activities and partnerships are developed through professional networks – engaging both recognised Lithuanian architects and younger-generation creators, especially those who have studied or worked abroad. Particular attention is given to children, young people, and other groups in society, aiming to democratise access to architecture and to discuss it as part of shared culture and the built environment we create. Daug dėmesio skiriama vaikams, jaunimui ir kitoms visuomenės grupėms, siekiant demokratizuoti architektūros pažinimą ir kalbėti apie ją kaip bendros kultūros ir kuriamos aplinkos dalį.

Educational Partnerships

The Institute’s educators build an expert position not only as organisers of educational activities, tours, and workshops, but also as partners helping other Lithuanian cultural actors bring architectural topics into their work. The Institute consults and shares expertise when developing educational content concepts, integrating architectural tours and non-formal learning activities about architecture. This direction is also supported by the Children’s Architecture Festival, which has become a traditional city event: it began in the former Kaunas Central Post Office building, and today the NAI is a partner of the festival.
